I’m a big fan of Harry Potter, so I was thrilled to be invited to a Harry Potter-themed birthday party in New York City for a 4-year-old boy named Jake. I had a blast throwing the party and ended up with a bunch of great Harry Potter party ideas for next time!
There’s no doubt that the Harry Potter books and movies have captured the imagination of a generation. With the release of the seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the wizarding world is finally complete.
Jake’s party was the perfect opportunity to bring the Harry Potter universe to life for a young boy and his family.
What do you need for a Harry Potter party?
A lot of people think that a Harry Potter party requires magic. But really, the only magic you need is a bit of planning and creativity.
My party started with a themed Pinterest board. I saved all of the Harry Potter-themed images I could find in harry potter house, and I saved them all in a folder on my computer. This way, I could search through them later and easily find the ones I wanted to use.
It’s important to keep your party theme simple, so I kept the Harry Potter party theme to just one color. I love the Harry Potter books and movies, so I decided to make a themed birthday banner and table decorations.
